Who Is Drupal Odyssey For?
Drupal Odyssey is for anyone who wants to learn, grow, and share in the Drupal journey and be part of a larger community. It doesn't matter if you're just starting out or are a seasoned end user or developer, this blog is for you!
Here, I will share the trials and tribulations along my journey with Drupal while showing you my mistakes so you don't fall into the same traps. Everything from managing your Drupal site to customizing core features to developing custom modules to meld your site it into what you need it to do.
Overwhelmed To Community Member
When I first began working with Drupal in 2008, I remember being overwhelmed to say the least. I even considered walking away from Drupal several times. I could not wrap my head around new terms such as 'Node', 'Vocabulary' and 'Taxonomy' and how they worked.
Somewhere along the line, I took notice of the Drupal community as a whole and my perception changed. The community is willing to help anyone who wants to learn, so I started asking questions. Over time, with help from countless others, I was able to get comfortable with Drupal.
Realizing what the community had done for me (for free), I felt that it was time that I started giving back. Since then, I've contributed 19 fixes to other community modules and currently maintain the Etsy Shop Integration and NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day modules.
The goal of this blog is to provide developers as well as content and Drupal system administrators with the help that they need to complete the tasks that are important to them. I'll also highlight news and updates with Drupal, community contributed modules and events.
